Starlight Youth Theatre is an amateur musical theatre group based in Loughborough. We rehearse at the United Reformed Church in Loughborough and perform two productions a year (one musical in March and one concert in June).

As well as giving our members the opportunity to perform on a stage, Starlight Youth Theatre expands their performance skills and allows them to express their creative side. We also try and build the confidence of our members as seen both on stage and in life in general. We have many current and ex-members attending performing arts schools (both locally and in London), others working in the entertainment industry (e.g. Butlins) and some members have also gone on to perform with some of Loughborough's adult amateur theatre groups.

We are always looking for new members, so if you are interested, we ask every potential member to audition to join us. Each auditionee would be required to perform one musical theatre song of their choice in front of our audition panel. If you are interested in becoming a member and are aged 10-18 (in school years 6-13) then please fill out the online form below. Auditions are usually held in the first week of the school autumn term; our next new members’ audition day will be announced shortly.

By becoming a member, you are showing a commitment to the society. We therefore say that if any member misses two consecutive performances, they MUST re-audition in order to be a part of the third performance.

Please be aware that all of our chaperones have been DBS-checked with regard to their involvement with children. All members in school years 6-11 need to obtain a children’s performance licence from the local authority; we have a designated committee member who completes this process on behalf of the company.
